SUSPECT PICS: 7-Eleven clerk shot during robbery in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC- A clerk at a convenience store was shot in the chest during an overnight robbery in Anderson County.

Dispatchers in Anderson County say it happened at the 7-Eleven off highway 187 near I-85 in Anderson shortly after 2 a.m.

The clerk called 911 and told them there had been an armed robbery and he had been shot in the chest, dispatch says.

According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, there were two robbers.

One was wearing a dark hooded jacket, light blue jeans and red tennis shoes.

The second suspect was wearing a camouflage hooded jacket, dark blue jeans and tan shoes.

The clerk said they both had red bandannas covering their faces.

No one else was in the store at the time of the incident.

The store clerk was taken to AnMed and is in surgery, dispatch says.  The sheriff’s office didn’t have any information about his condition.

The Anderson County Sheriffโ€™s Office, forensics, and investigation team cleared the scene after searching throughout the night.
