GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) — Police say a sinkhole has closed part of Haywood Road.

Greenville Police Department tweeted the sink hole is the size of an SUV. It’s in the parking lot of the Circle K gas station at 485 Haywood Road.

Police say two southbound lanes and one northbound lane are closed as precaution since there’s a chance a piece of concrete could rupture the gas line.

The sinkhole is reportedly 10 feet deep.

Police say Piedmont Natural Gas is on the scene, along with Greenville City firefighters.

There’s no immediate word on when lanes will reopen.
