Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they have determined the reported sighting in Collierville, Tennessee was not Tad Cummins or Elizabeth Thomas.

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – The Shelby County Sheriff’s office said there was a “positive” sighting of Cummins at a gas station near Memphis.

Local Memphis reports that Cummins was spotted just after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at a gas station in the 300 block of New Byhalia Road in Collierville. However, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they are investigating a reported sighting in Collierville, but they have not confirmed it as substantial.

The Collierville Police Department said Cummins and Elizabeth Thomas, 15, were traveling in a white Chevrolet panel van with a ladder rack and possibly a blue or aqua-colored tube on top. They said they are coordinating with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

In a BOLO, or be-on-the-lookout-for, issued for area law enforcement, Memphis police say the van was seen at a Krystal’s restaurant on Union Avenue in Memphis for several days—but Thursday afternoon, both Cummins and Thomas were spotted in the restaurant’s parking lot walking east.

Anyone in the area who spots Cummins or Thomas is asked to call 9-1-1.
