Tanker truck flips, crashes in Fountain Inn

LAURENS Co., S.C. (WSPA) — One man was hurt in a tanker truck crash on Interstate 385 in Fountain Inn.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Friday.

Troopers say a Gray Court man was driving the tanker on southbound I-385 when a tire blew out near mile marker 21. The blow out caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, running off the road and flipping in the crash.

Troopers say the driver was taken to the Greenville Memorial Hospital with injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.

The ramp at mile marker 22 remained closed as of 11:20 a.m. Friday. Drivers there canโ€™t currently get onto southbound I-385 from that entrance ramp, according to 7News crew.

Troopers say the driver has been cited for defective tire.
