MAULDIN, SC (WSPA) – Police arrested a Mauldin High School teacher on campus Thursday for drug charges after they say she was believed to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to the Mauldin Police, Amy Drawdy was charged with Possession of a Schedule IV drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Police say Drawdy was taken to the Greenville County Detention Center.

The police report says the Drawdy had pills and 2 glass smoking pipes in her possession.

According to Greenville County Schools, she was placed on administrative leave Thursday morning after confessing to school administration that she had forged a medical document.

Administration at the school then contacted law enforcement.

The district says that when she was confronted with the evidence, the teacher resigned her position at Greenville County Schools.
