Teen charged in Greenville Co. murder


GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – A 16-year-old has been charged for murder after he shot and killed an 18-year-old in Greenville, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened at a residence on Jamison Street just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11.

Two people were shot, according to Greenville County Sheriff’s deputies.

One of the victims, Ty’meir Warton, died from his injuries at the hospital.

The other person was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Greenville County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with the warrants division, were able to locate the suspect off of W. Parker Road in Greenville and take him into custody.

The suspect is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center where he is charged with one count of Murder, one count of Attempted Murder and 2 counts of Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
