Train cars derail in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Three train cars derailed in Anderson County, Monday afternoon.

According to the Anderson County Fire Department, three train cars derailed in the area of Amity Road and Fant Drive around 1:30pm.

Chief Jimmy Sutherland said the train was carrying paper products and no one was hurt.

Amity Road was blocked while crews work to clear the tracks. Crews pulled off two railroad cars from the tracks around 5:40 p.m. Monday.

The railroad is operated by Pickens Railway.
