Well hi, Jack Roper here in good old Powdresville at Providence Care. Now there are a lot of nice volunteers in there that do some work, but we’re here to seek out one special lady that spends her time helping others. Her name is Sharon Menze.

JULIE SAYLORS – PROVIDENCE CARE
Sharon has been a huge help, making a difference in the families of our patients. She makes beautiful quilts to give on to the families so they have that memory for evermore.

JESSICA PITTS – PROVIDENCE CARE
She takes the memories of the husband or the wife that passed away and she keeps those alive in the home.

SHARON MENZE – AWARD RECIPIENT
When I see these people, it’s like they give me more than I give them. Because when you volunteer, you never know when it’s going to be their last day, and you want it to be as special as it can be.

JESSICA PITTS – PROVIDENCE CARE
I was honored to give on of the blankets to a patent of mine, and I’ll never for get the look on her face and the tears of how much that meant to her that the shirts were still in the home, the jeans were still in the home. It was all still stuff she could touch, every day on the couch or every night in the bed.
