Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person has died after being hit by a vehicle on Big Creek Road Sunday night, the South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed.

Troopers said a driver of a 2013 Toyota Tundra was traveling east on Big Creek Road near Cannon Bottom Rd. just south of Williamston when they struck a pedestrian at about 8 p.m.

The pedestrian, Benji Michael Brock, 41, of Belton, died at the scene, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office said Brock was walking on Big Creek Road after leaving his home.

SCHP and the coroner’s office will continue to investigate the crash.
