Union County reserve deputy removed from position following social media post

UNION COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A Union County reserve deputy was removed from his position following a social media post made on Facebook.

The sheriff’s office said after reviewing the post and speaking with the reserve deputy it was determined to be a policy violation and he was released from duty immediately.

According to the sheriff’s office, reserve deputies are an unpaid, volunteer position with the office.
