Twelve German Shepherds in hoarding case, now up for adoption

A brand new Anderson County animal rescue is already busting at the seams with dogs who need their forever home.

Whiskey’s Animal Rescue who specializes in German Shepherd dogs was just getting off the ground when they received a call on February 14th about a breeder hoarding case in Piedmont. The rescue brought in 12 pure bred German Shepherds from that case.

After two months of vet visits, exercise and weight gain, it’s time for adoption.

“When one came in she literally had dreadlocks all the mud and hair it was years and years. It took us 4 hours to bathe her and the moment she got out of the tub Oreo turned into a dive and walked out of the grooming salon saying I’m pretty,” said Tracey Hauser with Whiskey’s Animal Rescue.

The rescue has nine other German Shepherd rescues as well as six other breeds who will all be up for adoption at the rescue’s first open house on Saturday.

The event will be at Danna’s Dogs which is at 5407 Highway 76 in Pendleton. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers and a bake sale to celebrate the rescue’s grand opening.

All 27 dogs are adoption ready and full vetted.
