Upstate correctional officer, 2 others arrested on misconduct charges

COLUMBIA, SC (WSPA) – Three South Carolina correctional officers, including one from an Upstate prison, were arrested on misconduct charges on Monday.

According to a Department of Corrections news release, Tiffan Rochelle Chander-Sparks, Cheryl Huggins and Lester Charles Smith, II, were arrested.

Chandler-Sparks was arrested for misconduct in office at Perry Correctional Institution, locaed in Pelzer, SC.

According to the affidavit, Chandler-Sparks reportedly provided pictures and video of herself of a sexual nature to inmates back in November 2018.

Huggins was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual misconduct with an inmate of a correctional facility and misconduct in office at Evans Correctional Institution.

Smith was arrested for furnishing or attemping to furnish a prisoner with contraband and misconduct in office at Ridgeland Correctional Institution.
