GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Tired of cooking? Well, you can go out to dinner this week and show your for support local moms and dads who are battling a life threatening illness.

“Let There Be Mom” is a Greenville organization working to preserve legacies of terminally ill parents, and by dining out at certain restaurants on Thursday helps you support their families.

To participate, the family must complete an application process. They must also have children under 18 years of age, be able to communicate with the organization and have a doctor that can communicate with “Let There Be Mom.”

From there, the organization puts together a project to help their children remember them by using hobbies, mementos, photos and gifts. Some examples include scrapbooks and quilts.

Families in the Greenville area within a mile radius can apply for services here: lettherebemom.org.

There are more than 90 participating restaurants in the event. Seasons Cafe and Catering, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Eggs Up Grill Woodruff Rd joined us Monday.
