(WSPA) – There are several events in the Upstate asking for Unity after recent violence.SPARTANBURG
Spartanburg County Judicial Center for Unity at the Flag Pole on Monday, July 11, 2016 starting at 8:00 am until 8:20 am.
The event was organized by Clerk of Court Hope Blackley who is asking people to wear red or black in support of this unity effort for Spartanburg County.
They say the goal is to promote unity among ALL citizens in our county regardless of our individual differences by offering prayer and words of encouragement.
Blackley is also calling on the Spartanburg youth to become more educated about how to act around law enforcement and what to do when someone is pulled over by an officer or deputy.
Bridging the Gap Between Law Enforcement and Citizens
The Ray of Hope Reconciliation Ministries of Spartanburg South Carolina will be hosting an event on Saturday July 16,2016 from 2:00-6:00pm at the Transformation Christian Church at 123 WestView Blvd. Spartanburg, South Carolina 29303.
Purpose to bring unity between the Law Enforcement and citizens and stop some of this gun violence. The speaker will be Dr. Willard L. Smith Senior Pastor of the Ray of Hope. 14 communities to Law Enforcement have been invited to participate and receive certificates.GREER
Service of Hope and Peace
City of Greer Mayor Rick Danner and Councilman Wayne Griffin are inviting the community to gather at noon on Monday for a Prayer Service of Hope and Peace at Greer’s First Baptist Church.
The service is expected to last until 1 p.m.
Greer First Baptist Church is located at 201 W. Poinsett St.
