OCONEE Co., S.C. (WSPA) — A Seneca man accused of sexually assaulting a child was arrested following a high-speed chase.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received an anonymous report Friday of a child being sexually assaulted.
Deputies said the suepect was identified as Dustin Stuart Reif.
While headed to Reif’s home, deputies allegedly saw him disregard a stop sign before leading them on a chase with speeds reaching 60 miles per hour.
Deputies say the chase ended when officers deployed Stop Sticks at the intersection of South Cove and Keowee School roads.
Reif has been charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11 years of age. Arrest warrants say Reif inappropriately touched a four-year-old girl earlier this year.
Deputies say he was also charged with failure to stop for blue lights and disregarding a stop sign.
Reif is currently in the Oconee County Detention Center.
