Upstate man hit, killed trying to cross I-20

RICHLAND Co., S.C. (WSPA) — The coroner says an Upstate man was hit and killed on an interstate. 

The accident happened Sunday night on I-20 in Columbia.

Troopers say a pedestrian was attempting to the cross the interstate when he was hit in the center westbound lane by an SUV. 

The pedestrian died at the scene, but his identity wasn’t immediately known. The Richland County coroner asked for the public’s help identifying him. 

The victim has been identified as  Jamarcus Dantre Foggie, 23, of Clinton. 

The coroner said an autopsy indicated that Foggie died of blunt head trauma.
