Urban League of the Upstate offers scholarship opportunities

(WSPA) — If you have a high school senior or you’re thinking about college scholarships, the Urban League of the Upstate is looking to help lower the cost of school expenses.

Organizers said there are many ways you can find money for school and the Urban League is partnering with several local groups to offer hundreds of dollars in scholarships.

The Upstate Network, in partnership with the National Society of Black Engineers, is offering the 2019 Stem Scholarship award.

Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors in Greenville County who display excellence in science, engineering, math and technology.

There will be three award recipients, including $1,500 for first place, second place will receive $1,000, and the third place will receive $500.

The Woodward Scholarship for Spartanburg and Spinx scholarship (two for Spartanburg and three for Greenville) are open now.

Spinx will close on March 22 and Woodward on April 15.

You can find more information at urbanleagueupstate.org.

OnePalmetto Scholarship and College Fair is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 30 at Greenville University Center at 225 S. Pleasantburg Dr.
