GREENWOOD Co., S.C. (WSPA) — A skylights and roof window manufacturer is expanding operations in Greenwood County.

According to a news release from Gov. Nikki Haley’s office, VELUS plans to invest $4 million and create 21 new jobs in the expansion.

VELUX provides skylights, roof windows, solar panels, electronic accessories and other items.

Located at 450 Old Brickyard Road in Greenwood, VELUX will add a new line of products targeting the industrial and commercial skylight business. The company expects to start hiring for new positions in the first quarter of 2017.

“Thanks to the high quality of our products and services, the strength of our brand reputation and our outstanding workforce, we have enjoyed great success here in Greenwood since opening our first plant 37 years ago. We considered opening a new manufacturing plant on the West Coast, but we instead chose to make the investment here in Greenwood, where we have enjoyed so much long-term success,” John W. Pillman, president of VELUX Greenwood, said in a statement.
