Victim identified in fatal Simpsonville crash

SIMPSONVILLE, SC (WSPA) – A man was killed after driving through a fence, entering the interstate, and striking a median in Simpsonville.

The crash happened just after 8:30pm on Saturday.

Interstate 385, near Richardson Street, has since reopened.

The coroner has identified the victim as 63-year-old Joe Black from Simpsonville.

The coroner says Black was not wearing a seatbelt and was the only person in the vehicle.

Two other vehicles also struck the victim’s pickup truck.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
