Wanted man crashes into Greenville Co. deputy’s car before chases

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said a search is underway for a man wanted on active warrants who crashed his vehicle into a deputy’s patrol car on Tuesday.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, around 5 p.m the sheriff’s office received a tip from Spartanburg County saying that Brandon Eugene Maddox was at Fast Cash Pawn on White Horse Road.

Deputies located Maddox in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado and when deputies approached him, he put the truck in reverse and hit one of the patrol cars.

According to the release, deputies were ok and no injuries were reported.

Deputies did chase Maddox into Pickens County, but lost sight of him.

Later, Pickens County deputies chased Maddox back into Greenville County and into Greenville city where he crashed, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and Greenville Police have set up a perimeter on Roper Mountain Road near where the crash happened and are tracking the suspect on foot.

Deputies say there are several new warrants on Maddox, including multiple warrants for Attempted Murder and Resisting Arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
