McDOWELL Co., NC (WSPA) – A wanted sex offender on probation is back behind bars, according to the McDowell Co. Sheriff’s Office.
Rachel Alison Smith, 33, of Jacktown Road in Marion, was found at her home and arrested on Wednesday evening, Oct. 18.
She was wanted on a sex offender registry violation (failure to report new address) and three felony probation violations, according to the sheriff’s office.
She was convicted of three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child in McDowell Co. in December 2015.
She was sentenced to 60 months of probation.
Her most recent address was 24 Currier Court in Marion.
Investigators say Smith left her last address in mid-August and didn’t register a news address within the three business days, which law requires.
During a search, the found 2 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia on her, according to the report.
She is now also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
