GREER, SC (WSPA) – A crash sent one car into a building and and another car into a utility pole – knocking down power lines and closing a street for several hours.

It happened on West Poinsett Street at Forest Street shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Greer Police Lieutenant Patrick Fortenberry said West Poinsett Street was cleared of hazards around midnight and has reopened.

Police say a Honda Pilot rear ended a Lexus, causing the Lexus to hit a building and a parked car in a used car lot.

The Honda then hit the utility pole and overturned.

Power lines were knocked down as a result of the crash.

The driver of the Lexus was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda was not hurt.

Police say the driver of the Honda was listed as the contributing party to the collision but was not issued a citation.
