OCONEE Co., S.C. (WSPA) — The City of Westminster advises water system customers to boil their water pending test results.
A boil water advisory was issued Wednesday morning for residents in the Westminster water distribution system.
In a post on the city’s Facebook page, public works officials said they’re testing samples to determine if there was any contamination from the accidental release of water before bacteriological samples were obtained following a routine tank inspection and washout.
Customers are urged to boil water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking until further notice.
“We are currently working to obtain the necessary samples within the system to determine the quality of the water. Drinking water regulations require we obtain two satisfactory results within a 24 hour period before lifting this ‘ boil water advisory,’” according to the post.
