(WSPA) – William Timmons has won the U.S. House District 4 seat.

Timmons defeated Democrat Brandon Brown and Independent candidate Guy Furay to fill the vacant 4th Congressional District seat left open by U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy.

On Tuesday night, Timmons thanked supporters and said he will work for all people in District 4.

The 4th District includes portions of Greenville and Spartanburg counties.

“I will fight to get our country back on track and be everyone’s representative,” he said.

Timmons then held up his cellphone and said he wants to hear from all constituents in Greenville and Spartanburg counties.

During his speech, Timmons reminded the crowd that six months ago he won the primary runoff against Lee Bright with just 391 votes.
