Winter weather advisory for Upstate, mountains

(WSPA) – A winter weather advisory has been issued Sunday night for the Upstate and the mountains.

The advisory is for the overnight threat of black ice.

The advisory will last from 6 Sunday until noon on Monday.

Oconee, Pickens, Greenville, Spartanburg, and Cherokee Counties in the Upstate are included, as well as all of western North Carolina.

Secondary roads in the mountains could still be snow covered.

Monday got off to a frigid start with temperatures mostly in the teens and low 20s throughout western North Carolina and some counties of the Upstate.

Temperatures are expected to remain cold and it will be freezing again Monday night.
