BUNCOMBE Co., N.C. (WSPA) — Troopers say a tip led them to the suspect in a hit-and-run crash near Asheville that claimed a New York man’s life.
Caleb Alexander Brock, 28, of Candler, N.C. has been charged with felony hit and run, driving while license revoked, left of center expired registration and inspection, the N.C. Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Troopers got a tip Monday that led them to Brock. He’s been identified as the driver of the car in the hit-and-run crash that happened around midnight Sunday on Monte Vista Road near Asheville.
Troopers say Brock hit a pedestrian and fled the scene. The victim, James Polischuk, 20, of Rochester, New York, died at the scene of the crash.
Brock remains in the Buncombe County Detention Center under $51,000 bond, according to jail records.
