LAURENS COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was arrested on charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor on Monday.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, deputies responded to a location in Laurens on Monday in reference to a runaway juvenile.
Deputies found the juvenile and returned the juvenile to their parents.
According to the release, deputies were concerned with the circumstances of the juvenile running away, so investigators were notified.
Following the investigation, Chasity Creasy Sherfield was charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor-2nd degree and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to a court affidavit, Sherfield engaged in sexual acts with a victim between 14 and 16 years old.
The incidents reportedly happened between August 25 and Sept. 10.
Sherfield was booked into the Johnson Detention Center.
