Woman dies in house fire in Honea Path

ANDERSON Co., S.C. (WSPA) — Anderson County Coroner’s Office officials said a woman died in an early-morning fire in Honea Path.

Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown confirmed Larue Elizabeth Nalley, of Honea Path, died in a house fire on Todd Road Monday morning.

McCown said Nalley and her boyfriend woke up to a smoke alarm going off in the home around 4:45 a.m.

A fire was on the back porch.

Both ran outside of the home, but Nalley went back inside to get a phone and some clothes, but died from smoke inhalation.

McCown said they had to use dental records to positively identify Nalley.

The arson team is currently doing an investigation, but no foul play is suspected.

Friendship, Honea Path and Craytonville firefighters responded to the scene.
