Woman found dead inside home after fire in Greenville ID’d

GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified a woman who was found dead in a home Saturday morning in Greenville County.

According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the fire happened at a home on Timberlake Drive around 5:30 a.m.

Coroner Kent Dill identified the woman as Grace Elizabeth Proffitt Callaham, 86, of Greenville.

Dill said Callaham’s cause of death was smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. Her manner of death is pending at this time.

According to the news release, the home was fully involved when firefighters arrived on-scene.

Wade Hampton Fire Department responded to the house fire.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, Wade Hamption Fire Department and the coroner’s office are investigating the fire.
