Woman gets 10 years probation after grandson killed by dogs in Hart Co.

HARTWELL, GA (WSPA) – A woman whose grandson was killed after he was attacked by pit bulls at her home was sentenced to 10 years probation.

According to a Superior Court clerk, Sandra Adams, of Hart County, was sentenced Thursday after she pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

We reported earlier that Georgia Bureau of Investigation said that Adams had been babysitting her grandson when they were attacked trying to enter her home.

Adams was reportedly knocked to the ground before the dogs attacked the boy.

She then tried to shield the boy and pull the dogs from the child.

Adams, along with the boy’s mother, took the child to an urgent care center where he later died.

The dogs who attacked the boy were later euthanized.

Along with probation, she’ll have to pay a $2,500 find, according to a Superior Court clerk.
