GREENVILLE Co., S.C. (WSPA) — A woman was killed Tuesday night while crossing a road in Greenville.
The S.C. Highway Patrol says it happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Poinsett Highway.
Troopers say the 47-year-old woman was crossing Poinsett Highway when a car headed east hit her.
The coroner said the woman died of trauma and the manner of death has been ruled an accident. She died at the scene of the crash at 616 Poinsett Highway. Her identity won’t be released until next of kin is notified, according to the coroner’s office.
The driver, 20-year-old Marlon Rodriguez, was charged with driving an uninsured vehicle, according to the Highway Patrol.
