SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – The Spartanburg County Coroner has identified a woman found dead with a gunshot wound in Lyman.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger said investigators responded Tuesday night to a home in the 100 block of Riverwalk Drive.

Dispatch said a shooting was reported in the area.

The woman has been identified as 55-year-old Shelly Hazard Pickle.

Lieutenant Kevin Bobo with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said the department’s investigation of the death continues, but foul play isn’t currently suspected.

Clevenger said their preliminary information is that the death is accidental, but is not prepared to make a ruling until all evidence and statements have been evaluated.
