A woman was killed Thursday night after she was ejected from a car in a single-vehicle crash on Battleground Road.

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said a woman was driving a 2016 Kia southbound on Battleground Road, also SC 110, when she drove off of the right side of the road. The car entered a pasture and flipped several times.

Authorities say the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car.

She died at the scene.

Troopers say there were no passengers in the car and no other vehicles involved.

On Friday, Fowler identified the woman as Riccie Ann Whitesides, 33, of Cowpens.

Fowler said an autopsy performed on Friday showed that Whitesides died from injuries sustained in the crash.
