SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) — Authorities say a Woodruff man was hit and killed while walking along Highway 417.
The wreck happened Monday night near Reidville.
Troopers say a pedestrian was walking north on the highway when he was hit by a Greenville driver headed the same way.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger identified the victim as Roy Lewis Johnson, 30, of 3375 Highway 417 in Woodruff.
Troopers say the driver was not hurt.
There are no charges in the accident, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Joe Hovis.
It was one of two deadly crashes Monday night in Spartanburg County.
Troopers say a Pacolet man was killed when the vehicle he was driving went off South Pine Street, hit a fence and flipped.
