Work to create a program to get Greenville County citizens in affordable housing is underway.

The Greenville Homeless Alliance has been afforded 6 interns from Elliott Davis for 240 hours this summer. Their job is to create a curriculum for the Second Chance Housing Program.

The program is targeting those who have an eviction or bad credit, or other barriers stopping them from being able to be in a stable home.

The interns will be working with the Homeless Alliance and the Housing Authority to pinpoint the areas they need to focus on to fix the problem. The program will offer the potential renters a program that teaches them how to be a good tenant.

The Homeless Alliance hopes at the end of these students internship, they have a better understanding of the housing crisis in their hometown and a solution for those looking for stable housing.
