Clemson’s Beer Selected In First Round By Astros


Clemson outfielder Seth Beer was taken 28th overall by the reigning world champion Houston Astros in the opening round of the MLB Draft Monday night.

The junior hit 22 home runs with 54 RBI this past season while batting .301 and his 56 career homers, fourth best in Tigers history.

He’s the first Clemson player selected in the opening round since Richie Shaffer in 2012.
