Wofford moved from 24th up to number 22 in the new Associated Press college basketball poll released.

The Terriers, who debuted in the rankings last week, are now the highest-ranked Southern Conference team this season after Furman climbed as high as 23rd in December.

Wofford (26-4) just completed the first unbeaten SoCon regular season (18-0) since a Steph Curry-led Davidson did so in 2008.

The Terriers face the winner of Friday night’s VMI/Western Carolina game Saturday at noon in round two of the Southern Conference Tournament at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville.

Furman opens play Saturday night against Mercer in a game scheduled for an 8:30pm tip-off.

The Southern Conference women’s tournament begins with four games Thursday at 11am at the Asheville arena.
