High Point Boys Win 1-A Title; High Point Girls Come Up Short in Championship Quest

Jayden Byrd scored a game high 29 points and Isayah Owens added 17 points and 10 rebounds to help High Point Academy defeat Hemingway, 70-55 to capture the 1A boys state championship. The schools first ever state title comes in just its third year playing in the South Carolina High School League.

In the 1A girls state championship, Scott’s Branch came back from a double digit deficit to defeat High Point Academy, 63-49. In a losing effort, Taniah Wilkins led the Grizzlies with 22 points and 14 rebounds.
