New Southside coach has place in Dorman’s past

High School Football

First-year Southside High School head coach Roy Ravenell looks to get the Tigers something he was the part of as a player at Stratford High near Charleston, a state title.

Ravenell was on the Knights Big 16 state championship squad in 1999 that defeated Dorman, winning a one-possession game when the Cavaliers’ Brandon Turner caught a pass, falling to the ground, at the one-yard line on the final player of the game allowing Stratford to survive.
