As first reported by 7 News Sports Monday afternoon, the Ninety Six school board approved the hiring of Clinton co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Matthew Bennett as head football coach Monday evening.
Bennett replaces Matthew Owings, who recently stepped down.
He spent the past four seasons on the staff at Clinton. The Red Devils combined for 24 wins over the past two campaigns, including a trip to the 3A upper state title game this past fall.
