Bill Owens stepped down as Chesnee High School head foobal coach Wednesday morning after a two-year stint.

Owens posted a 7-15 record in his tenure.  The Eagles were 2-9 in 2018.

It was the third head coaching stop for Owens and when he took the job in 2017, it ended a 13-year hiatus from the sidelines.

Prior to Chesnee, Owens was head coach at Broome High for four seasons from 2001 to 2004, leading the Centurions to the 2A state title in his final year at the helm.

He also was head coach at Indian Land in Lancaster County for two seasons in 1999 and 2000.

He owns a career record of 55-41 in eight seasons.
