An undisclosed issue or issues with the installation of new Field Turf at Gaffney High School’s Reservation has forced the moving of the opening game against Hanna on August 19th to the Indian’s former stadium at Gaffney Middle School.

The schools says it’s unsure if the new surface will be ready for the second home game, September 9th against West Charlotte.

“Administration will be informing season ticket holders of specifics regarding seating and parking when tickets are sold during the week of August I, 2016,” the school announced in a release.

Gaffney is one of six area schools in the upstate that will have an artificial surface at its home stadium this fall joining Hanna, Westside, Greenwood, Emerald, and Liberty.

Limestone College also uses the stadium but doesn’t have it’s first home game scheduled until September 17th against Mars Hill.
