Spartanburg’s Hodge among new coaches adjusting to no spring football

Sports

New Spartanburg head coach Mark Hodge, who’s final four seasons at Chapman included his teams winning 47 of their past 49 games and two 3A state championships, is among 12 area high school head coaches in a new job but without the ability to hold spring football practice.

As a result, he and his assistants have reached out to their new players online but as he looks toward what he hopes are normal summer workouts, he has concerns that the current pandemic situation could also impact those in a very specific way.
