USC head coach Frank Martin said Friday he will not talk to Cincinnati about its head basketball opening after Jeff Goodman of Stadium reported Thursday evening that Martin was a “key target” of the Bearcats.
Martin has guided USC for seven seasons, taking them to the Final Four in 2017.
Martin makes nearly $3 million annually and is signed at USC through 2023, according to The State newspaper, which reports that Cronin make just over $2 million per year.
Martin is a former Cincinnati assisant, and told The State it was that fact that led him to contemplate the idea of considering the job.
Martin acknowledged last month that he was approached by UNLV about his interest in their opening.
