From the best dessert to the best savory dish and even the best dish using certified grown in South Carolina. The very popular Taste of Black Upstate is coming up on June 22nd and we are giving you a taste this morning with Ben Hall with Big Ben’s Desserts and Lorenzo Elmore with Gullah Q Lowcountry BBQ.
The popular “Taste of Black Upstate,” in its seventh year, will take place at a new venue this year.
On Friday June 22, 2018 at the Revel Event Center; the event will feature 15-20 Chefs all vying for four awards with a $1,000 prize each: Best Display, Best Savory, Best Dessert and Best “Certified Grown SC” for the Chef producing the best dish using SC based agricultural products.
Doors open at 7:30 pm until 10:30 pm Attendees can expect another exciting evening featuring local chefs, caterers and restaurants, along with local entertainment and southern hospitality.
“We believe re-focusing on our true mission and values in 2018 will impact the economic divide for the community and provide true economic growth for the next generation,” says Darrin Thomas.
